Every day Feels Like Amazon Prime Day

Every day feels like Amazon Prime Day to me. While I love a deal, I don’t wait around for the annual sale and break the bank to buy things I would not normally buy any of the other 364 days of the year. The truth is, I am an Amazon-shopping addict. Thanks to Amazon Prime, I have a delivery at least once a week but it is not abnormal to see that Prime labeled box slide across my doorstep twice a week if I’m being “extra.”

I have gotten downright lazy. That is what Amazon Prime has done to me, when it comes to retail shopping. I’m talking toothpaste y’all. I even get my favorite toothpaste delivered to me rather than pay a dollar or two more at the health store – plus the time and travel. I am highly sensitive to sulfites and fluorinated products. I can’t pick up my toothpaste at Target or Walgreens. My Jason’s Seafresh is usually a steal on Amazon, so…”add to cart.” *wink*

While my list of faves on Amazon is long.. I’m talking CVS receipt and coupon long, for now let’s focus on the things that keep me somewhat youthful! LOL:

I’ve taken the Rainbow Light vitamins for years. They are so easy on my digestive system and full of some of the best plant-based superfoods like spirulina and ginger root. These vitamins are additive-free and gentle on my belly, which is why I keep coming back to them. I get plenty of Vitamin D and iron from these babies. Side note: their fish & flaxseed gels are pretty awesome too. There is zero, I mean zero aftertaste or disgusting burps. Keep them in the freezer and pop one. Good to go.

Art Naturals Serum Vitamin C has become one of my go-to skincare enhancers. I am in preventative mode when it comes to my face and proper skincare. I want to keep my appearance youthful and refreshed but I also want to make sure that any sun damage I may have done is carefully and gently taken care of. Yes, this happens to us brown-skinned girls too, just to a lesser extent. This vitamin C serum, which is enhanced with hyaluronic acid, helps to hydrate and brighten my skin. I have sensitive skin. I can definitely be considered acne-prone, particularly in my T-zone. This serum has not given me one bit of a problem – it’s quite gentle. Maybe because of the jojoba oil, which is supposed to be similar to our own sebum. I don’t know, I can’t pretend to be a dermatologist.  I just love this serum and what it does for my skin!

You might be thinking, what does a pillow have to do with beauty? Let me tell you what I think, EVERYTHING. This bamboo shredded memory pillow changed the game for me. Those sleepless nights because of bad pillows and discomfort are a thing of the past! That means no more bags under my eyes, no more sallow skin, no more headaches, no more anything if it was because of those wack pillows I used to have. I have tried countless memory foam and side sleeper pillows to no avail. My neck continued to hurt and my sleep continued to be disrupted. This bamboo shredded memory foam allows you to remove and customize the level of foam in the pillow to fit your personal needs and level of support. It feels. So. Good.

Not all castor oils are created equal! I do stick with the cold-press oils like this Aria Starr Castor Oil which I use on my scalp, scars from ingrown hairs on my legs (I refuse to wax), and on my eyelashes to help them grow. This oil does not get near the amount of hype as coconut oil (which I use and love for different purposes), but it should because it is multi-purpose and does just as much, if not more than coconut oil. It’s a great carrier oil to use with other products or as a base for essential oils. The key is consistency. For instance, if you are using this on your scalp as an oil treatment like I do, keep in mind you may need to use it for several months to achieve the results you want. Every now and then probably doesn’t make much difference. I put a bit of peppermint oil and MSM in my castor oil.

I love a lot of the Shea Moisture line and will happily tell you about the products that have done good by me and those that have finally made their way into the trash (and why). One of my current favorites is the Frankincense & Myrrh Raw Shea Butter. I don’t use it on my face, I put a bit on my knees and elbows at night. This is one of those often overlooked areas. I noticed my knees were looking particularly troubled so now I have to nurse them back to health. I’m hard on them. Between working out, banging around the house and my lovely, dry skin, they didn’t stand a chance. Thanks to this Shea Moisture moisturizer they are on the road to being ash-free LOL!

This is really the tip of the iceberg. I could go on and on. Check back with me or sign up to my newsletter, I may share more tips – and hope it saves you time and/or money. I mean it when I say every day is Amazon Prime Day for me. I keep my shopping list alive and well on Amazon. I’m not quite sure what would make me give up my Prime membership but I hope I don’t have to find out.

  • Vitamin C serum is AMAZING. I’ve been using it off and on for probably a good 4 to 5 years. However, since I use it off and on and not consistently, I can never use the entire bottle before it starts to oxidize. I’m always looking for a good vitamin C serum though, so I think I’ll give this one a try!

P.S. Thank Hana for hooking me up with your blog! 😀

  • I could not agree more – vitamin C has changed and improved my skin so much. I’m glad you love it too. Hopefully you won’t have the oxidation issue.
