It seems like this is a time of the year I find myself in search of gifts for friends for one reason or another. I have many friends with birthdays, changing jobs, receiving promotions or simply getting “you’re my girl, I love you gifts.” There is just always a reason, right?
I’ve been rounding up some of my favorites, think of it as my gift to you *wink*. Of course I’d love for you to share some of your favorite gifts for friends or things on your wish list you’d love to receive in the comments below. I keep a running list of gift ideas in my notes on my phone so as I run across something I can go back, research and read about them later. I just need to make sure the idea is worth the investment.
One of the gifts I was happiest to receive and I love to give in return is a sturdy journal that is reflective of my personality. I fill them up in no time. While I am a fan of digitizing notes and quick thoughts, there is nothing like journaling my goals, my plans, ideas…you get the picture. Ban.do has some fun journals, with styles to suit many personalities. I like the bound version but they also carry spiraled journals, lined or unlined. Journals get a lot of use, I don’t think they will go out of style anytime soon.
While jewelry can be a very personal gift, necklaces are a fairly safe bet. Gorjana makes some of the most delicate and chic jewelry – I usually end up getting a little something for myself. I was so happy to stumble upon this brand – I was instantly converted. The 3-Disc necklace is on the top three of my “Gorjana must-haves.” It comes in three colors; rose gold (FAVE), gold and silver and it effortlessly creates a layered effect – no hassle. I figure most of my friends would appreciate saving time on trying to create the perfect layered look. So pretty.
Due to the many stressors we endure on any given day, I think it’s important we pamper ourselves and our bodies and just take a bit of time for ourselves. I like to use somewhat indulgent and very nourishing creams on my skin – especially coming out of the harsh winter. I also like to give these sorts of products as gifts. Sometimes we get stuck in the routine of buying our day-to-day products we use and never consider anything else to transform and treat our hands, feet – even our bath time. I believe in shaking up a ritual! The L’Occitane Spring Kit is a great gift idea. It’s full of rich soap, oils, creams and lotions with an almond milk or almond oil base. While meant to be used for travel sized purposes, the kit is a perfect way to get a preview of French body care line. It is all inspired by nature and plant-based.
Candles are always a great idea, if you understand someone’s scent preferences. You could also stick to floral notes, citrus notes, etc. to keep it somewhat neutral.
Hope you enjoy all of your giving and receiving! xo
