Day to Evening Dresses
Ease and flexibility in dressing come to mind, especially towards the end of the week when the social schedules tend to pick up. Wednesday through Friday I often get invited to more networking events, social events with friends, dinner engagements etc. I prefer to transition my look from day to evening rather than show up looking like I just came from the office - and feeling like it. If I just take a few minutes to change a few things about my appearance I actually feel re-energized and gain my second (or third) wind.
With dresses I've found the best way to transition from day-to-evening is by creating layers of clothing during the day and removing them during the evening. I love adding blazers, sweaters, tunics and jackets over dresses to create a more polished look for the office. I also swap jewelry from understated (or perhaps none) during the day, to a signature piece of jewelry for the evening. The finishing day to evening transition is all about the shoes. I may swap out an oxford or flat for a beautiful pair of stilettos or booties for the evening. Of course you can also create equally fabulous day to evening looks with key pieces like skirts and pants.
A few of my current favorite day to evening dresses are:
Sweatshirt dresses are comfortable and fun. They look just as good with scarves and belts. Have a great time creating winning day to evening looks fashionistas. I'd love to hear your favorite combinations.
