Boyfriend Tee
There are so reasons for my love of the spring weather. I get to transition from warm coffee to iced coffee, have my favorite fresh flowers make my home and office a special kind of fragrant, and enjoy dining al fresco with my favorite peeps. I also get to usher in some of my favorite spring fashions including one that will never get old for me, the oversized boyfriend tee.
I realize for some people the slouchiness of this look may be too distracting for it to be considered stylish. I can appreciate that and I always say "to each her own." Style is what you make it. I love a cozy boyfriend tee in a soft jersey or quality 100% cotton material. I usually buy one size smaller and I still get the comfort and full effect of a relaxed look of a boyfriend tee. My favorite brands are James Perse (or this option here) and J Brand however I have found some great bargains at Urban Outfitter like the Truly Madly Deeply brand. I always go for the v-neck; it's a better look for me and it looks better for layering (and neckwear). I also check out the men's section for oversized tees that would substitute for a boyfriend tee and buy a size or two down from my normal size. I usually try them on before leaving the store to make sure the look and feel is what I have in mind. There are more than plenty in my size in the men's section.
Add a pair of heels and my skinnies and I've turned one of my spring essentials (the boyfriend tee) into an 'enhanced casual' street style.
