Oversized off the Shoulder Sweater
I finally succumbed to the style pressure. It was inevitable that this happened. I am not complaining though - I must say it feels pretty damn good. I generally like my clothes to fit my shape "just so." I take care to make sure my blouses, tanks and tops are not too baggy so they don't add any extra bulk to my look - I love my clothes tapered. I am in trouble if I gain more than the five pounds I have no problem finding. However....the oversized, off the shoulder sweater look that has taken over what feels like all the Instagram fashion accounts, every Girl's Night Out and Pinterest " style inspo" board has officially invaded my psyche. I could not control myself! I had to give in and try this look out for myself and I love it; I hate that I waited so long to rock it.
There are many variations of the oversized, off the shoulder sweater look but I wanted to ease into the style. I kept it simple in a marled-knit sweater with a slouchy neckline. I purchased the sweater one size smaller to be on the safe side, in the event it might hang completely off my body. Not the style I aimed for though it looks fine on others. I am also a fan of the oversized, off the shoulder sweater with the deep V in the back. It's a very striking look but one I probably won't indulge in this late in the season unless I run across a sweater for a steal.
I love this sweater because it lends itself to easy, low-maintenance dressing. You can create a very casual, low-key style with your favorite jeans or joggers and a sweater. You can also elevate your style with the addition of some textured denim, lace-up pants, or a cute mini to create a monochromatic silhouette. There are so many dope options to be made.
