Think Pink
For years I have made it through most of my adult life without wearing the color pink. I don't think there is anything wrong with the color at all, it just didn't suit me. I gave in to the stereotype about the color. I thought it was too frilly and soft. Not at all like my personality - I am fun-loving but definitely edgy. I loved pink for my nails, just not for my clothes. For some reason yet to be uncovered that sentiment took a turn sometime in 2016. Now, I am firm believer of team "think pink" for just about everything!
Pink, well maybe really blush pink, is now one of my favorite colors on the nude palette. I'd actually been looking for a blush pink suit when I came across this hot, pink blazer. I fell in love with the color immediately and started thinking of all the possibilities of how I could wear it if I bought it. While my heart was set on a softer shade and an entire suit, I knew I would only wear a full, pink suit a couple of times. Though I could wear the pieces of a pink suit as separates to get more wear out of them. I still felt I could get some great mileage out of this deliciously, colored hot-pink blazer. I'm glad I did it. I love every bright bit of it. It doesn't make me feel overheated by the way. That is a huge plus.
"Think pink" was clearly on my brain, so I opted to pair it with a very closely colored tank I recently picked up in one of my recent hauls. I think it this blazer would also look great over a monochromatic, neutral look. This exact blazer is currently on sale so it's selling fairly quickly. I've shared some similar styles and the rest of the outfit details below.
I feel like such a cliche. Cobalt blue and aubergine are my most favorite colors. The shade of pink is carving out a special place in my heart though. Playing right into those gender roles! LOL.
